Gujarat has witnessed huge industrial growth in last decade and hence it is imperative need to have robust system to support student startups and innovation. Student Startup and Innovation Policy of the state of Gujarat was launched by Education Department, Government of Gujarat. Under the aegis of the aforementioned policy of Government of Gujarat, Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy Government Engineering College, Surat entered into an MoU with the policy’s central implementation nodal agency, Gujarat Knowledge Society to help in building innovation and pre-incubation processes across the state’s higher education system.
As part of the policy, DGGEC, Surat's responsibility is to identify, support and encourage entrepreneurs and innovators in the campus, as well as provide them support for creating proof of concepts, patents, mentor-ship and guidance.
